Hi everyone!
After 2 years not writing any blog, I decided to come back here with a horror story! Why? Because Halloween is in the corner!
So this story happens 2 years ago actually, I just cleared my (P) probation moment as cabin crew and I had this Shanghai (PVG) flight. That flight was hectic and exhausted as usual since i worked as galley stewardess.
Arriving in hotel and checked in, my IFM (Inflight Manager / Purser) approached me and asked me if i'm keen to change my room number. Knowing nothing and as junior crew, I asked why should I change? She (IFM) didn't explained why, just making sure if I need to. I rejected that offer and thanked her for the concern and proceed to the room.
Finish with shower and clean myself, I decided to take a nap before dinner as the crew planned to have the famous hotpot around hotel. But this is where this story begin.
For all the reader imagination's sake, I will describe how the room looks like. It was a very spacious room with twin bed and a 'look thru' bathroom, complete with bathtub and shower inside. The room had some control panel on the wall for lights.

In the middle of the twin beds, there are 2 remotes on the table. 1 for TV and the other one for curtains. Since the curtains was remote operated, it cant be pulled by hands. (I tried)
Back to the "accident".
I slept on the second bed, the one near the couch on the picture and was back facing the curtain. My habit of sleeping was lights off, curtains and blinds on, make it as dark as I can. When I was sleeping, I heard a noise like 'shreeeeek' that kind. Vaguely I saw my room was bright and I feel like curtains was open. Too tired to awake and come out from bed, I just forced my self to continue sleep when I heard the second 'shreeeeek'.
I opened my eyes and curtains was fully closed, room was dark. There, I was start to scared an video called my ex to accompany me to sleep. He was at the office at that moment and we just see each other but didn't talk. I was almost fell asleep (again) when the third 'shreeeek' sounds woke me up fully and my ex also looking at the phone.
Me, knowing nothing and shivering because I was scared to the max, run out from room at the moment my ex shouted over the phone "ESTHER YOU GET OUT FROM THERE!!" just a tank top with boxer, I ran out knocked other stewardess room and cried. In her room I called reception and asked to change my room.
She asked me where's my original room number since she asked me am I calling from my room now I said no. I told her the room number and what she said to me was shocked me, she said "miss we are fully booked and you can go back to your room. There's nothing wrong with the curtain." How do you even know I experienced something with the curtain when I didn't even tell you?
There was I realized that it might happens before to someone else, meaning I'm not the first one experienced or complaint about this.
That moment, I cried and trembled, asked her to call the hotel manager and asked him/her to came up to meet me. Meanwhile my friend (the other stewardess called my IFM).
He, the hotel manager came and four of us went to my room. I was very scared to enter but my IFM and other FSS was very helpful and I can feel they're backing me up that kind of feeling.
The hotel manager said to me that sometimes the magnet and electric on the curtain was faulty that's why can open and closed by itself (when he said this he tried to pull the curtain but of course it didn't twitch at all) and he moved to the table saying maybe the remote faulty since it is a very sensitive remote and he opened the back of the remote (that I'm sure he want to check the battery), and guess what? There's no battery inside. It was empty. Sawing that, my IFM directly asked me to bunked in with her, the other FSS also spent the night together with us. I slept all the way until checked out since I was shag from first sector and cried too much. Checked out my eyes was swollen and my IFM maintain me as B2 to minimize me came out to cabin or face passengers. IFM wrote a report about this accident and since there was a witness, this matter became very important and what exactly my ex saw was a shadow of a body, looks like human body but black and that shadow's hand was reaching my neck. So he saw somebody was trying to choke my neck that kind of picture.
That was a scary, traumatizing and absolutely insane experience for me since I wasn't really believe in ghost. Like I believe that they are exist, but i was convincing myself as long I didn't disturb them, they wont disturb me. Back to the report, follow up action was taken, supported from here and there, I was banned flying to PVG for 2 years. I can do any other flight including PEK (Beijing) but not this particular PVG. There's time when system glitch and control 'accidentaly' roster-ed me for PVG once, I called control and stated I'm banned from PVG then they change it. It was a very nice gesture that this company did for me and I'm really grateful for that.
2 years since that happened, control did check with me if I'm okay to do PVG from now on and I said I think I'm okay. a week after they said that, there you go PVG back to my roster, standby call up also PVG. Really don't give chance hahaha. That's all my PVG story to celebrate this Halloween festive.
trick or treat?
